Learning Something New

I’m learning something new in knitting, and that’s the brioche stitch.  The 2-color brioche stitch.

This person has a good teaching video on that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6sTUBEGHaQ

I’ve done it successfully once so far, for a swatch sized sample, but tonight I was too tired to do the

pattern right, so I’m not going to try again until tomorrow, God willing.  I spent some time at the local

book warehouse sorting non-fiction books, and I’m just too tired now, this late in the evening.

Learning new things is supposed to be good for the ageing brain, and I’m trying to stay mentally active as much as

I can.

Grave Visit

I visited my dad’s gravesite last week, it was more emotional than I thought it would be.  A person can still be grieving the loss of a family member and not even know it.

I was very surprised at the intensity of my sorrow there at his grave.

Craft Fair

I was a vendor at my first Craft Fair this past weekend.  It was a good experience for me, and my daughter and her friend were there to keep me company.  It was in a church, and there were about 48 other crafters in attendance.

I sold books, and had for sale earrings, and hand-knitted items like fingerless mitts and hats.  There wasn’t much traffic, and hardly ANY of the other vendors sold their wares either.  Still, it was something I’m glad I participated in.
